Ingredients: Flour [wheat flour, calcium carbonate, iron, niacin, thiamine], Water, West Country Farmhouse Cheddar Cheese (20%) (milk), Butter [milk, contains colour: beta carotene], Cheese powder (5%) [sugar, dried cheddar cheese powder (milk), whey powder (milk), buttermilk powder, whole milk powder, garlic powder, onion, yeast extract, natural flavouring, paprika extract], Salt, Mustard powder.

The Moonrakers

The story goes that a couple of lads from Wiltshire were involved in distilling brandy but didn’t bother the Excise with any paperwork. Having been warned of an impending inspection, they hurriedly hid a couple of barrels in the village pond. On the night the Customs officials arrived the full moon shone brightly revealing what lay beneath the water’s calm surface. Hastily grabbing a couple of rakes the lads set about disturbing the water and silt to obscure the tuns. When questioned, they claimed they were trying to retrieve the ‘cheese’ (reflection of the moon) which had fallen in the pond.

Did you know?

Cheddar is a full flavoured cheese named after the village in Somerset where it originated.
